Community Connect summarises a number of challenges facing WA society and outlines ways in which sport and recreation can address these challenges and lead to stronger communities. CSRR carried out a review of current research into the area, culminating in a report to the Department of Sport and Recreation which informed the development of this booklet.

As part of a wider sport advocacy program undertaken by the Department of Sport and Recreation, and supported by CSRR research, the booklet aims to broaden public understanding of the areas in which sport and recreation can benefit society.
